Associate Clinical Professor
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
University of California, San Francisco
Dr. Michael Cluck is a highly trained expert in minimally invasive spine surgery. He has extensive training in motion preservation surgery including artificial disc replacement, complex lumbar and cervical spine surgery for disorders such as cervical myelopathy and radiculopathy, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, and fractures. Dr. Cluck is actively involved in medical research and technology development, pioneering minimally invasive spine surgery techniques. Taking an individual approach to patient care, he uses state-of-the-art technology to precisely diagnose the location of pain for each patient. Only then does he offer non-surgical treatment options to relieve pain and improve function. In fact, Dr. Cluck has a special interest in pain management and understands through better pain control patients are more comfortable and functional after surgery allowing them to regain better long term function in a more timely fashion. When surgery is indicated, he uses minimally invasive surgical techniques and the most sophisticated technology to achieve excellent outcomes after surgery.
Dr. Cluck was born and raised on a horse ranch in Hollister, California. He currently lives in Atwater with his wife, 3 children and their 2 dogs, Henri and Sophie. In his spare time, he enjoys running, golf and playing tennis.
